My Brief Story on How This Blog Began:
In 2014 I was a single mom to three young boys when the week before Christmas I received a call that would change my world for the rest of my life, “You’ve got cancer.” I was diagnosed with breast cancer (DCIS). Completely unsure of the degree and severity of my cancer, treatment, etc. I began journaling updates, prayers, and my walk with Christ through turbulent and raging seas.
Against all odds a young King David, equipped only by God and without hesitation, ran to the battle line. He defeated the enemy in plain shepherd clothing, armed with a slingshot and five smooth stones. My thoughts, “If only I can have a faith like King David’s on this earth, I too can defeat giants.” My eternal hope was and is to leave a documented legacy of faith in Jesus through adversity for my boys, family and friends to remember me by. It is my deepest desire that my testimony of faith, His favor and the promises of God may encourage and empower each of you to truly believe in Him. Thus, One Stone Away was birthed.
Fast forward to today… I am over-the-moon in awe of God to be on this earth as Mrs. Mark Spencer Williams, one blessed mum to Chey, three boys, mum-in-love to Gabi, Mimi to our g-baby Finnegan, mum to three pups, a determined daughter driven to glorify God through the events of my life, and truly living an Ephesians 3:20 life.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, . . .” Ephesians 3:20 NKJV
Two Pieces of Advice for New Bloggers:
- You do you! What you write about, publish, and the way in which you share it is as unique as you are.
- Jesus loves you and He will never stop pursuing you!
There is a tremendous amount of rich talent on WordPress and in the blogging world. It would be an insurmountable task to nominate everyone whom I appreciate and enjoy reading. To those whom I follow and to those whom I have yet to discover please keep writing. Your thoughts and inspirations will touch those who read your work. I truly believe there is a greater divine reason why you write what you do. My heart is full of appreciation for y’all receiving me so well. You bless me, my heart overflows and I love you!
Congratulations to all the nominees! Just as Gail shared with us, please do not feel obligated to participate. If you do, please do not feel rushed! Be true to you, keep on writing, and know Jesus loves you!
In His love always,
Mrs. Missy Williams
