Excitement stirs and my heart beats faster as I walk into our home this afternoon and see a note on the kitchen island. There’s nothing small or micro about the love notes my husband writes to me or I write to him. They might be small in the number of characters, words or sentences, but the size of the impact on my heart and soul is simply immeasurable.
I leave for work typically before he gets up and I am home long before he even leaves work so, we communicate one more time, one more way before we move forward with our days.
The little things are BIG things.
The only love letters that excite me more than those of my husband are those love letters of my Father and King. Just as it should be Jesus is first and my husband, Mark is next.
The loving and truthful verse that echoes in my heart each and every day, and most resembles my life with Mark is …
“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promise to her.” Luke 1:45 (NIV)
After a decade of singleness raising three boys alone God restored what the locusts had eaten and breathed life into my lungs healing me from cancer, and bringing Mark back into my life, now living, loving, serving forever together as husband and wife.
Love letters unending…
keeps the heart full and beating.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” Proverbs 31:25 (NIV)
“She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.” Proverbs 31:26 (NIV)
“do not let your adornment be merrily outward- arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel- rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God…” 1 Peter 3:3-4 (NKJV)
“You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you.” Song of Songs 4:7 (NIV)
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
Whether single or married, whether woman or man, our God has written love letters to His children. Find your favorites in these I’ve provided or be encouraged to spend time with Him and an open Bible so that His Word may leap off the page and straight into your heart.
Arms open wide He desires to love on you right where you’re at. So, run to Him. He is waiting.
P. S. My heart is full today as I received notification that over two-hundred of you beautiful people are following OneStoneAway.com. Thank you so much for your love, support, and encouragement. It is our deepest prayer that through our writings the Joy of our Lord becomes/or is as contagious to you as He is to us.
