This week the ladies from Living Waters attended Radiant Conference at Celebration Church in Georgetown, Texas. The theme was FEAR NOT.
A women’s conference is one way we women congregate. We are relational and need that common bond, that support, love, encouragement like we know how to give. We help encourage each other’s faith through difficult circumstances and relationships. We build up and stand along side each other in times of need.
God brings people into our lives and sometimes people leave. It could be that the relationship was just for a season or to fulfill a task and then we move on.
For those of you who may not know me all that well yet, I recently married the love of my life, Mark. He moved from Florida back to Texas and I moved from my home of 23 years near Austin, Texas to a small town just outside of San Antonio. While it isn’t far from my friends and family I’ve found I’m still not planted where I once was. It takes intentional planning, and effort to meet up and “congregate” if you will with friends and family. I’ve never really experienced the feeling of being connected yet disconnecting but God is working a mighty work through this season. The beautiful ladies of Living Waters have welcomed me with open arms and I could not be more blessed.
As a single women for over a decade I prayed for my husband, not knowing who “he” was. I also prayed for his family because my heart new I would love his family, but I wanted his family to love me back. Let me just tell you, this is another area where God blew my socks off. His family is lovely. I love them and am blessed they love me back.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us… Ephesians 3:20 (NIV)
This is Kelly, Mark’s niece. She has such a heart for the Lord. I couldn’t have been more excited that she said yes when I invited her to Radiant this year. It was her first women’s conference and it won’t be her last. Thank You Jesus.
Here’s my Susie-Q. Anointed and gifted this woman of God has a big testimony that is only going to get bigger. I’m grateful to be in her life and stand along side her in agreement as she waits.
Meet sweet Amber Renee. She my not have had the easiest of lives growing up, but she loves our Lord with all her heart. You can just see it in her smile.
Far right… is sweet Alliyah. She is such a beautiful, talented and gifted young woman who is also on fire for God. My husband Mark and I truly love Alliyah and her husband Colin. To think we get to witness God work in and through their lives is incredibly humbling.
Relationships can be rocky. Our faith can be too. I think of it similar to a mountainous terrain. If we are pressing in , keep our eyes focused upwards and continue to climb uphill we will remain by His side. If we look down or turn our backs we run the risk of separating ourselves from the flock making us an even greater and vulnerable target.
Thank You Lord for this incredible weekend to come together with Your daughters, to love on them, and to be loved on. It is a true honor and a privilege to do so.
Congregate with others. As hard as it may be sometimes, as difficult, uncomfortable, vulnerable, and maybe even awkward do not be set apart. There is but one who wins when we turn our backs…the enemy. He takes great joy in that. Remind him who our God is. Remind him of his future – he lost! Hold strong in your faith. Congregate with women who are intentional about their relationship with Him. Stay in the truth in the Word of God, and be planted in a healthy bible based church.
Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.
