Pastor Daniel Gonzales dropped straight up wisdom that Sunday morning when he said, “You can’t climb a mountain if the edges are smooth.”
It made me think of the power that is within our struggles. We have choices on how we face them. We can crawl in bed and pull the covers over our head and give up or we can grab ahold of the struggle and hearness the power it holds to overcome, to perseavere and to thrive through it.
Raging, white-capped waters polish hard, jagged edges of rocks and pebbles in the stream.
Thunderous and turbulent surf has proven to polish broken pieces of glass that were once discarded into the seas as trash and turning them into beautiful new creations.
Sometimes our perception and vision is focused on the pain or fear that is immediately before us rather than looking at the obstacle, trial or difficulty as simply a stepping stone to catapult us to the next level. At least for me this is true.
The Call to Endurance
Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily ensnares us. Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne. Hebrews 12:1-2 (HCSB)
While the trial, the season, the hurt might be uncomfortable, painful or downright intolerable at times, just know you are so very close to the next level of provision, the next level of favor, the next level of breakthrough. Hold on. Don’t let go. You are running the race set before you and you’re so very close.
With all you have left in you, press into the Lord, reach out and trust His sovereignty to protect you and provide for you because He totally will and He already is!
Run to Him. He is waiting.
In His love always,
