Distant – Seperated By 1,000 Miles

One year ago today he told me he loved me for the very first time. “You have my whole heart.” he added.

Friday, June 2, 2017 my forever love and best friend became my husband. I am blessed and honored to be Mrs. Mark Spencer Williams for the rest of our lives.

God ordained our union from the beginning. Although Mark & I remain 1,000 miles apart God continues to bridge the gap. He continues to grow us as individuals through Him and together now as husband and wife. What may seem as distant to most others we continue to grow in intimacy and closeness. This can only be done by keeping our eyes fixed on The One who created the heavens and the earth.

Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts. For if either falls, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls without another to lift him up. Also, if two lie down together, they can keep warm; but how can one person alone keep warm? And if someone overpowers one person, two can resist him. A cord of three strands is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (HCSB)

The Holy Spirit is the third strand, the most vital and critical ingredient which strengthens and makes the bond, the relationship stronger… and not easily broken.

A single yellow rose lay sweetly on our bed in our balcony suite at The Driskill in Austin, Texas. It’s perfection simply captivated me.

Look closely. Try to count the layers of petals. It is all but impossible to do because many of the center petals have yet to be revealed. Layer upon layer nestled oh so perfectly to create this beautiful work of art in nature.

Just as this rose has many petals, both revealed and not, we can’t even begin to scratch the surface of all the friends God aligned along our path to create, participate, orchestrate, coordinate and execute our fairytale wedding. You are the very symbol of the petals in this rose. Some of you were visible, while others were behind the scenes. Each one of you unique and vital to this day.  It truly was magical.

God blessed us far beyond our wildest dreams, far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by each of you and every detail revealed. Friday, June 2, 2017 was absolutely another Ephesians 3:20 day and every day leading up to it. You played a valuable and irreplaceable role and we thank you with our whole hearts.

God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us. Ephesians 3:20-21 (MSG)

Mark and I are humbled, honored, and blessed knowing how many people stepped forward, jumped in, and moved on our behalf to make this day a modern day fairytale of two people in love. Our hearts are full and we are blessed by each one of you who provided your talent, your location, your time, your treasure to see every detail come to fruition. The day and night was truly spectacular. Each of you are forever in our hearts and the memories are etched in our minds. We thank you.

To all of our family, friends, and guests thank you for honoring us with your presence. A special thank you also to all of our family and friends who weren’t able to attend and who have continually and faithfully covered us in prayer. You are our blessed prayer warriors.  We love you and thank God for each of you.

So, tonight as Mark and I lay our heads on pillows one thousand miles apart we know tomorrow may reveal new details. There still remains many details in our future we do not know, however, we do know Who holds our future. We trust His timing, His plan, His provision and His perfect will for our lives. We are beyond blessed you all are walking along side of us every step of the way!

God is faithful. We are living proof!

Love y’all!

Mr. and Mrs. Mark Spencer Williams
