This morning on the hill Tyler Logan led worship and Pastor Daniel Gonzales led the word. His message has stuck with me all day. It’s been on my heart so much so that I thought I’d share it with you.

“Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” Matthew 26:36 (NIV)

Ps. Daniel asked, “If God saw fit to fellowship with Himself in the garden shouldn’t we?”

He went on to remind us that God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

For those of you who may not know us, my love Mark and I are about 1,000 miles apart. He’s in Florida while I’m in Texas. As much as he and I would love to be in the same city, or the same state for that matter God has not closed the gap…yet. Our geography is what it is, but our faith in God is greater. Since day one our commitment individually and united together is to do it His way so we remain under His umbrella of protection.

Walking things out in the flesh by doing what “we” want never lasts. I know because, unfortunately in the past I’ve done it.  A covenant lasts forever and it is that forever kinda love in Him that Mark and I cling to.

God continues to cover our relationship with abundant peace, unconditional trust, a whole lotta love and lots of confirmation.  Above all else, Mark and I want His clear and perfect will for our lives and so we diligently seek Him with expectant hearts.

In the waiting we can be expectant of a greater plan. God expects that of us. After all, nothing surprises Him. He knows our wants and desires before we do.

As this morning was coming to a close Ps. Daniel said something that just struck me. When I heard it I immediately thought, “But of course! This is so true!”

“You can’t climb a mountain if the edges are smooth.” Ps. Daniel Gonzales

This encourages me to know that in the jagged, difficult, or uncomfortable of life these circumstances are necessary in order to climb the mountain.

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8 (HCSB)

In the big and small circumstances of your life I pray this message encourages you as wel!

God bless you,
