Out of the Ashes

I am living proof there is…
… beauty after ashes
… healing through fire
… love after loss
… life and life abundant

Reflecting on December 22, 2015, just one year ago my heart is settled and my spirit is calm.
Exactly one year ago today I was in the hospital for my 6th surgery in 10 months.

Praising God through this journey and that the 6th surgery was my final through breast cancer, infection and reconstruction.

I am living proof that our God is still a miracle working God.

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6 (NASB)

With each passing moment my gratitude overwhelms my heart in the form of tears for I am so richly blessed by the love of my life, my three boys, daughter-in-love, grand-baby Finn, loving sisters and friends.

I wouldn’t trade this journey with my Lord and King.  I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Are you walking through fire in a trial for your life? Stand tall, speak boldly and tell your trial how BIG our God is.

You Make Me Brave – Bethel Music

He makes the oceans bow down and extinguishes the fiery darts from the pit of hell. Our King and Lord is not surprised by what you’re going through, in fact, He’s prepared you for it. Uniquely equipped and lovingly prepared you with ALL you need to sail through “this”.

No matter what your “this” trust God to perform miracle upon miracle to deliver you of, by and through it.

May your Christmas be joyous and may God continue to richly bless you my friend.

Run to Him. He is waiting.

In His love,
Missy xo

  1. I’m so glad for you that you’ve been brought through that trial to stand as a witness to your reliance on God. I had bypass surgery many years ago and 2 other near-fatal problems. Like you, I am grateful for them. It’s amazing what we can learn in adversity!

  2. Beautiful and moving. You are an inspiration in so many ways. May God bless you and yours this holy season.
