A diamond is formed by pressure, darkness, and extreme heat. The question has been asked how can extreme violence and intensity create such beauty? Glass is refined by exposure to intense fire over and over again while the glass blower creates the piece just as it should be. When both processes are finished the result is an amazing, beautiful work.
Whether a diamond is being formed or the glass blower is working his gifting, it is in the perfect temperature, extreme pressure and exact order and timing that the process is complete. Much like our King and Lord forms, molds and shapes us.
I want to be that work in Jesus. All the more reason I daily recommit and die to myself, die to my flesh and seek Him, pursue Him, praise Him. Not lacking anything. I am right where He needs me to be. A step to the right or left is out of His plan.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. —James 1:2–4
