Something Better

Holding on too tightly to our plans, dreams and desires can set us up for a long 40 year journey in the desert. It will also make those 40 years, or however long the journey is, filled with resentment, bitterness, unforgiveness and discontentment not to mention doubt the our Father can or will give us favor.

Some of us may become angry, isolated, and distant from God rather than pressing in toward a deeper, more intentional, loving relationship with Him that is filled with trust.

Maybe you’ve heard it said like I have that God has three answers for the desires of our heart and the plans for our life, Yes, No, I have something better.

Priscilla Shirer shared in one of her bible studies that she prays boldly, asking for all she desires and that is in her heart. She prays all this in the name of Jesus… or … wait for it… SOMETHING BETTER. I don’t know about you, but for me, YES, that’s what I want too. If it’s not the most awesome plan I have come up with I want “something better“. Who doesn’t?

It’s all about perspective. I try to give it my all to keep His perspective. I do desire for my focus to be solely on Eternity and focus on the eyes of my King Jesus. I fail and fall short, but that doesn’t deter me from trying again.

Today is a new day of dreaming, desiring, gratitude and love. I’m going to give it my all. I pray you will too.

Grace wins everytime,

Missy xo

  1. Thank you for this reminder. I believe God always has the better plan, in fact, the most secure plan we could only think about if only we let Him. He is already in the future. Jer 29:11 🙂
